5 Fun Easter Activities for Kids
Easter is the perfect time to slow down, connect as a family, and enjoy a little extra fun with the kids. Whether you are planning a relaxing long weekend at home or looking for easy ways to keep little ones entertained, these simple Easter activities are creative, memorable and family-friendly.
From classic Easter egg hunts to cute keepsake crafts, here are five easy Easter ideas your children will love.
1. Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt
Traditions are classics for a reason, but this Easter egg hunt comes with a fun twist. A glow in the dark Easter egg hunt adds excitement for early risers and makes the morning feel even more magical.
How to create it:
- Use glow-in-the-dark eggs available online
- Or place glow sticks inside empty plastic eggs
- Hide them indoors with the blinds closed or outdoors at dusk for older children
It is a simple way to make your Easter traditions feel fresh, fun and unforgettable.
2. Footprint Carrots
These adorable footprint carrots are one of those simple Easter craft ideas that also become a keepsake. Use them to create a festive wall display, make homemade Easter cards, or simply enjoy some creative fun with the kids.
All you need is paint, paper and a little creativity to turn your child’s footprints into something special.
3. Easter Egg Rock Painting
Instead of decorating real eggs, try Easter egg rock painting. It is less messy, less expensive, and something children can enjoy long after Easter is over.
Why families love this activity:
- Less mess than decorating real eggs
- A low-cost Easter craft idea for kids
- Painted rocks can become garden decorations or keepsakes
4. Paper Plate Bunny Masks
This cute Easter bunny mask is a fun craft activity that children of all ages can enjoy. It is also the kind of activity that keeps giving, because the masks can be used for dress-ups and imaginative play well beyond the long weekend.
What you’ll need:
- Paper plate
- White card stock
- Light pink felt
- Jumbo craft stick
- White pipe cleaners
- Glue
- Scissors
- Cut a paper plate in half.
- Draw two oval eye holes and carefully cut them out.
- Cut two long oval ears and a heart shape from the white card stock.
- Glue the heart to the bottom centre of the plate.
- Cut a smaller pink heart from felt and glue it on top.
- Cut six short pipe cleaner pieces and glue three to each side of the heart for whiskers.
- Cut pink felt inserts for the ears and glue them to the white card ears.
- Glue the ears to the back of the plate.
- Attach the jumbo craft stick to one side as a handle.
5. Photo Bunnies
This one is sweet, simple and makes a beautiful keepsake. Print a cute photo of your child, add cotton wool for a fluffy bunny effect, and create an Easter craft that grandparents will absolutely adore.
It is tactile, creative and perfect for younger children too.
