My name is Barbara; although too many families, I’m known as ‘Nanny Barbs.’
I am an Australian Diploma Qualified career Nanny and Babysitter. I’ve worked many years in childcare centres, before and after school facilities, as well as running my own independent Babysitting and Nannying business. I have over 27 years of experience with children of all ages; from newborns (4 days old) to 13 yrs of age. I have supported many families of various make ups, this includes twins (multiples), Premature Babies as well.

I live in Varsity Lakes though service a 20km Radius of my residential property.
I have my own reliable 7 seater car and full license. I also have multiple age appropriate car seats installed, in my own car to use as needed. 2x rear or forward facing up to 4yrs and 2x 6m-8+yrs, 5 point harness / Booster seats. All these seats are always sanitised to manufacture standards after every use. A child’s Health and safety is always my number one priority as is my own.
I am fully Vaccinated against all childhood diseases and illnesses including Covid 19 plus Boosters, my vaccinations are updated and renewed every 10yrs as recommended.
I love taking children that are in my care out on adventures and excursions. As I feel there is so much more for children to learn and develop while outdoors exploring their surroundings. Rather than spending large amounts of time on electronic devices.
Though this is all Depending on the current weather of the day and age of the child in my care of course, but Nanny Barbs always has a plan B ready to go for unexpected weather days. I always bring along fun, educational craft, activities, and games. All age appropriate for children in my care. Many older Children always ask “ Nanny Barbs do you have your Special bag today”. As they know it’s full of educational yet fun games and things to work together on.
Whilst caring for children, health and safety is my number one priority, no matter where we go or what we do. One of the sayings I go by is “Your kids are my kids when in my care“. This means I will care for them, educate them, spoil them and respect them just as if their parents would as in the end I’m hired to be a reflection of you and lend a hand.
My hours are often flexible and are always molded differently to suit each family; as to me, each family is unique and operates in there own special ways. My babysitting hourly rate starts From $38/hr and My Nannying Hourly Rate starts from $41/hr (pending which service of mine you choose along with other aspects like How many children, public holidays and more. All can be discussed in person) though the services i provide in all categories are worth every cent and more than the hourly rate you’ll pay. Over the 27+yrs of dedication and service to the child minding industry i have experience with children of all ages from 4 days old to 13yrs at all times of the day, whether it be mornings, afternoons, evenings, overnights or even that extra pair of hands as you travel around the world, weather it be for business or personal travel. (I have traveled to many different destinations around the world many times before with many families, my passport and vaccinations are in date and ready to go.)
Nanny Barbs isn’t only there to care for the children in her care. Yes they are my upmost numberc one main priority but in times when a child is within an independent safe activity (older children) or they’re sleeping. I don’t just sit around and wait. It’s just not me. You’ll notice on these days, you may have washing hung out or folded, dinner prepared or cooked, dishes attended to, can even help with small business family households with admin work etc. Pretty much anything I see that needs to be done or you feel you need an extra pair of hands, I will attend to it, so long as your children are cared for first as they are the main concept of my job. There is no challenge too big or too small, I Nanny Barbs will give it her all to attend to it after ensuring your children are well looked after first.

During any spare time, if I’m not planning activities and fun educational things to do with children in my care, I love to go swimming and play tennis, on those wet rainy days I love to work on some craft or photography projects, write more kids songs (which you may hear me sing), children stories and poetry.
