Hi parents/caregivers, My name is Amber, I am 32 years old and live in Lutwyche, Brisbane.
I have enjoyed babysitting for the past 18 years on and off, for the most part while working full time in Nannying or Admin. I have been a Full Time Live-In Nanny internationally for 2 of those in London.
I have worked with kids of all ages from newborn to teens as well as twin infants. I have also worked alongside varying levels of ASD and learning delays which I really enjoy as it helps me learn new ways of communicating/dealing with emotions. I have a partner with two kids 5 & 7 who I get along fabulously with, the eldest is Neurodivergent as is my partner and both are an absolute treasure and teach me new things all the time about patience and understanding.

I take pride in being able to diffuse a situation with words (most of the time), counting down from 5 usually works to get little ones to settle and will try to work about what’s upset them/get them thinking about why they were triggered.
I love to go beyond a ‘babysitter’ and try leave knowing they’ve been taught green and red choices, how to be gentle, use kind words and how we look after our siblings.

I take a firm but fair approach, am definitely all in for a dance party, hair braiding and floor is lava when required. I enjoy cooking and arts and love to include the kids in simple cooking and cleaning, to develop life skills and independence. I have two car seats in my car, Rear Facing 0-2years and Forward Facing 1-8years and happy to take kids for trips close by to get out of the house if too far for walking.

My preference is sole charge roles for 3 hours + where parents are out having some free time or we are out for that time of WFH, generally because there’s a pull between Nanny and Parent if home which can be very challenging for all.

If you’re seeing me available, it’s a rare occurrence as my Nanny business is booming, usually fairly busy but absolutely love to meet new families.

I've studied ballet, tap and jazz plus many other dance forms and have taught dance to children of various ages.
