Kiddo wins Lord Mayor’s Business Award.
Australia’s leading childcare app, Kiddo, won the Xero Award for Outstanding Micro Business at the Lord Mayor’s Business Awards 2022 in a ceremony Friday 21 October 2022.
After recently being named Queensland's Ausmumpreneur Rising Star for 2022, the innovative mum-run startup was also recognised as a finalist in this year's Lord Mayor Business Awards.
The esteemed Lord Mayor’s Business Awards (LMBA) recognise the best and most innovative businesses and entrepreneurs in Brisbane. The awards centre on the energy, drive and passion behind businesses contributing to the growth of Brisbane’s economy.
Outstanding Micro Business Award
As a finalist in the Award for Outstanding Micro Business, Kiddo was recognised for its significant growth in a short time, among a highly competitive field of start-ups and established businesses. Founded in Brisbane in 2019, Kiddo has quickly grown to service over 22,000 users across Australia.
As the winner, Kiddo was celebrated for making a significant impact through it's delivery of its technology, creating community and connection by providing parents a safe and trusted platform to find care for their children.
CEO & Mother, Rebecca Dredge said the Kiddo platform supported parents to find in-home care for their children - babysitting, nannying and more recently NDIS care for children. During 2022 they've expanded their services nationally and Kiddo is on a mission to scale to assist as many parents with their inclusive care offering.
“Kiddo uses the latest technology to provide parents a safe and efficient way to find care. With burnout so prominent post Covid, and so many families looking for flexible work (and care) options, Kiddo is really becoming a household name throughout Australia.”
Kiddo humbled with their win
Kiddo was certainly humbled with their win on the evening: "This award is really a dream come true. We have dreamt of obtaining this recognition since we launched. To be named a finalist we were winners, but to win, its true recognition to our community. Everyone that uses Kiddo everyday, this award is for them."
Kiddo has a community that is over 22,000 users strong. “We are delighted to be recognised for our contribution to the lives of people in our community, we strive for excellence in all we do to assist parents, carers and children of all abilities alike” Mrs Dredge said at the awards.
The recent awards add to a number of honours for Kiddo this year, including being awarded for Bronze Startup of the Year at the Global Stevie Awards, Queensland Rising star of the Year in the Ausmumpreneur Awards and Finalist in the Young Entrepreneur Business News Australia Awards for 2022.
