What is the Women’s Career Grant?

The Women’s Career Grant is a Queensland Government initiative administered by Future Women to support women ready to re-enter the workforce after an extended break. It offers eligible women up to $4,999 to cover essential costs that often stand in the way of getting back to work. This program aims to help thousands of Queensland women restart their careers over the coming year.

Applications open Monday, 3 November 2025, with funding available until 30 June 2026 (or until funds are exhausted).

Who can apply?

Applicants must be women aged 18+ who live in Queensland and have been unemployed for six months or more, and are ready to re-enter paid work. What can the grant pay for?

  • Childcare – e.g. registered childcare, family day care, before/after school care fees.
  • Workwear & Equipment – office attire, uniforms, PPE, tools.
  • Technology – computer, software, assistive tech.
  • Training & Recertification – accredited modules, PD courses, textbooks.
  • Job-readiness support – resume writing, interview prep, grooming, travel.
  • Relocation (within QLD) – moving costs, bond cleans for new roles.
